Columns
A column is a vertical (from top to bottom) line of cells in a worksheet.
Each column is given a unique name starting with A…to IZ.
There are 256 columns in any Excel worksheet.
Rows
A row is a horizontal (from left to right) line of cells in a worksheet.
Each row is given a unique name starting with 1…to 65536.
There are 65,536 rows in any Excel worksheet.
Cells
A cell is a box in the grid.
Each has a unique name made up of the column no. and row no. it is in, for example the top left cell in a worksheet is A1 as it is in column A (the first column) and row 1 (the first row).
There are over 16 millons cells in any Excel worksheet (65,536 columns x 256 rows)
